Dometop cage or playtop cage

How do african greys do in a dome top cage. Im thinking of going for the avian adventures mediana model dometop. Its a nice wide cage with more interior room for him than a playtop. What do you all think of dometops?

I definitely prefer playtops. My birds use them ALL the time! It's also a space saver if you don't have room for a playstand.

I think it just depends on what you want. I wanted a dometop because I didnt like the permanent play area, or that it seems dark under there. Darwins cage is like a piece of furniture over here, so I got what I wanted. I will say that he also has playstands and such too, that I can move from room to room if I am doing something away from his cage. He is definitely happy in there too :)

I have a playtop b/c the room the cage is in we spend the most time it. My 'tiel also has a playtop. That being said you do have to be careful about the bird being higher than your eyes. They can become agressive if places high. I solve this issue by using a step stool. Another thing is(I have read this) Grey's can become very attached to their cage to it's important go get them away from their cage every day.

The nice thing about the cage you are looking at, the playtop comes off.

We have playtop here and works great for us.

Is this with all birds? If so, I may have to rethink and redo some things with Ducky so he doesn't become aggressive.

LOL ... this will be difficult as Ducky's cage is taller than me. I have to stand on my tip toes to get him down when he's on the top perch on top of his cage. Sometimes when want to get him down, he simply moves over 'cause he knows I can't reach him. I end up getting a step stool sometimes.

Ken Globus, the bird whisperer, told me to only get a dome top because of the height issue. They can get away from you on a playtop. I was disappointed, but understood. I actually wanted a playtop because of the space issue, but got dome top.
