resent adopted TAG -photos & intro-

I was posting about focusing on adopting a Ekkie. The one I had My eye on just wasn’t a tug at my heart. The same day I was told about this little TAG - assumed to be male- I find out later that 80% of the things I was told about this guy were lie's (I just don’t understand why when some re-home there parrots they don’t explain the truth instead of this)

I was told he was 3 years old, they had his hatch date which was in 2003 -so he’s actually going on 5. Which is not a big deal in our book!
Then, I was told hes on Zupreem pellets, he had a large cage only 1 year old. The cage size 32x24 w.playtop no rust ect. Well, when I went to pick him up, they had target seed which he’s been on all his life. His cage is about 4-5 yo, rusted and only 24x22 or something. Once again - 2 more things that are not BIG deals but, the cage I would have not brought him here until I had something nicer.
He was fully flighted & always has been, but the day of his transport she was afraid so she clipped about 1 inch off 3 wings on one side *that I was upset about* more because of the mess she caused compared to no danger because he was in a carrier the whole trip!

*Plus's besides him just being wonderful -- he isn’t phobic of new toys or people, loves all kinds of foods *addicted to chocolate chip cookies, which he will no longer ever have here!* So far, everyone that’s come over has been able to step him up, with little to no growl or fear. He came with all rotted wood perch’s, torn - stained & rotted toys. So, he got all new perch’s & toys and is loving every minute of it -- adding tape, wooden & plastic foot toys, treasure box ect. He’s such a well rounded baby! He is a little "leery" of the flashing lights in his face *the camera*

His name is Buddy, he so far has only said "Hi buddy" and made an assortment of loud beeps & whistles. I was told he say's much more, although I could care less -- Talking is on the last of my priority list LoL!

His large cage-what a joke to me

Mean Muggin

Look Ma' pretty wings!

Even after all the lie's, how could we say NO to this?

I wouldn't have been able to say no either. He's adorable. I can't understand why people lie either. Maybe they're just too embarrassed to admit they screwed up or didn't really care.

Wow...he's really beautiful. I love the second pic down. My own TAG is a joy in my (and my wife's) life. It's great that he's found a good home with you.

I don't think that the cage in the picture is a bad size at all (although the rust would worry me). He'll need a play gym of course, for when he's out of the cage. But, he should do fine in a cage that size. As long as he spends enough time out of it and gets enough attention from you. It souds like he's pretty well adjusted to being around humans.

Are you going to convert him to pellets?

Its not a bad size, but not a size I keep My Teko in. So he will be getting a much larger cage as soon as I can. He’s out all day, like the others.

Yes, I will be working on his conversion :)

Ty everyone I do feel lucky. I think there intensions were well, they just didn’t "know"

He is one gorgeous looking bird, and he's so lucky to have found you! That's wonderful that you are giving him the kind of home that he deserves.
