parakeets vs african greys

I was just wondering if budgies and african greys get along? I have 2 budgies and am planning to get an african grey, but I must think about my others birds first. So do africans and budgies get along very well?

I wouldn't put Libby (my tag) anywhere near the budgie. She landed on top of it's cage once and I thought she would brake right through the bars.

However, each bird is different. If you"re getting a baby, you could probably work with him.

While I don't have ANY african grey experience, I would be worried because of my budgie's personality - he thinks he is larger than life and has no problems trying to boss around larger animals or people We do not let the dog or cats out when the birds are out for a couple of reasons, one being that my budgie is too trusting and curious and I think he would happily hop into their mouths or else he would think he can harass the animals like he does with our cockatiel.

I would never put a grey anywhere near a budgie- serious damage could be done! Its not worth the risk.

If you carefully supervise both of them, I would think they would be okay. I have a CAG and a GCC (she's not much bigger than a budgie) who live in the same room, and even can play together on their hoopball. It just depends on your birds, and how well you supervise them, I think.

A leash, so to speak, is best only used for going out of the house... and not all birds enjoy using them.
