My Grey's favorite new place...I'm baffled!

So, the avian vet clipped Tuki's wings back a bit more so he can't make any more trans-house flights into windows anymore. If he tries to fly he drifts to the living room rug.

When I take him out of his cage, I place him on the playtop with some foot toys and a nutriberry or two. But for three days in a row, Tuki has done something a bit strange...

I take him out, he immediately flies down to the floor and ambles into the kitchen (the next room). Once there, he just stands in the middle of the floor and hangs out. If I call to him, he'll answer...but wants to hang there.
Today I brought him back in to the playtop...but he went right back out there again.

There are no toys there...no food. I'm still in the other room unless I come get him. Any other birds doing this???
And ideas why???

Well, Tuki has a new little addition to this behavior....

He will hang out in the kitchen for a while...then He does LAPS! Yes, he runs the length of the kitchen...turns and runs back. I can't help but laugh...he looks hilarious!

Perhaps he's in training for something I don't know about?

Funny the ideas they get in their heads, isn't it? Wish we could ask them why they do what they do!

Our's like the kitchen floor,but goes after the dog food dishes...flings it everywhere. The dogs seem puzzled.

There's something that he likes in there. That's funny about the laps in the kitchen. They're funny looking when they walk anyway.

He looks hilarious running. I really need to take some video.

You're right...there's something he likes in there. But I do find it odd when he goes in and just stands there - one leg up. Whatever! He's safe and happy...and that's all I care about!

Oh and my dog's dishes are in there...Tuki totally ignores them!

Maybe it's the "echo" sound the kitchen makes because of the flooring, etc. ?
