Smile Best toys for baby CAG

Hi I'm finally taking my baby CAG home on Labor day. I already have the cage. Now I want to get ready with toys before she comes home. Any advice what type of toys are the best (meaning that they actually play with it and it's safe. I had other bird before and I bought toys but they don't play with it as much. Just want to know what your CAG's favorite toys.

Thanks in advance!

I got my CAG a few months ago she was 8 weeks old then, and I just started her out on some different small hanging toys made from acrylic, rope, PAPER!! LOL! SHE LOVES SHREDDING PAPER!! I recommend getting your CAG something to shred for those longer times inside her cage. I also got her some of those rubber "jacks" she loves those because she can hold them in her talons. (I actually think they were in the cat toy section of the store) She also likes little cat balls, and stuff with bells inside them.
Good luck and I'm glad to see you don't have much longer to wait to bring your fid home!!
Have a great weekend!!

Thanks Kris I really appreciate your response. Yes I can't wait til she gets home. I have been stopping by the breeders 3 times a week getting to know her and hand feeding her. I think she's beginning to recognize me. LOL I just to make sure I'm prepared when she gets home.

You're welcome!! I aslo wanted to mention that you might also want to get her some "preening" material toys. Like the rope and stuff like that, you'll see it when you get to looking at all the different things the pet stores have to offer. We're getting a PetCo here soon, as of right now the only big pet shop we have is Superpetz, and it's not the best of places to go. Well, again, good luck and I wish you the best, keep me informed of the development of your new CAG, Summer is starting to (TRY) to talk. She is definatally saying "hello" and she's only 4 months old!! I think the more you talk to them the quicker they are to talk if they're going to be talkers.
Talk to you later
~Kris~

I suggest you get as many different types of toys that you can such as ones that can be destroyed easily, make noise, etc. Make sure to get toys which can be picked up off the bottom of the cage too. MY CAG loves cotton candy, which is a type of preening toy. I also highly recommend shredders. Good luck!

My Tristan loves toys made from softer wood. She really likes to chew the wood up. She likes the shreddable toys, she doesn't play with them as much as Spencer (they're his favorite). She loves to chew on plastic toys and toys made of stainless steel. Like mentioned above, Grey Feather Toys has some really awesome toys. Most of my bird's toys are from them. Both of my guys love to chew on wiffle balls. GFT has a wiffle ball stuffed with pieces of paper and rope. Tristan completely destroyed her. They both also enjoy making their bells ring (especially pipe bells). It's best to try different types of toys to see what she'll like best. And of course the best toy of all is..................YOU!!!!!

have fun!!!!

Greys are not all alike!

Congrats on your baby coming home! This is such an exciting time for both of you!

Although you'll want all different types of toys to start...your Grey will have definite favorites!
My CAG, Tuki LOVES WOOD!!! Any kind (unfortunately, that includes my baseboards sometimes!) He chews on it all the time!

He also loves to swing...so I have different ones I put in his cage every couple of weeks to keep him entertained -- but his favorite is a "Boing." He even sleeps on it!

All the best - give your baby some scritches from us!

My CAG's favorite toys are the rubber ball with a bell inside of it, wiffle balls with smaller balls inside of it. Plastic rings, the long hanging ones, and small wooden toys that are easy to sling around.
