Thumbs up Summer's first AVIAN vet appointment!!

WENT WELL!!The vet said she's very healthy!! The whitish color on her beak is nothing other than the "dust" that Summer "itches" away!! She got her nails done, and the vet said that the wing clip was terrible and we'll have to wait until Summer goes through her molt and regrows her wing feathers for her to have her wings clipped the RIGHT way. I was going to have her DNA sexed, but decided not to because I don't want to be disappointed if she's not a she. I'll just "assume" Summer's a girl. LOL! Maybe another time. I don't see the point because I'm not looking into breeding her. I'll talk to you later. Have a great night.

good news...and the white on the beak is what I thought....

The one good thing about DNA sexing is to rule out should you have a problem one day, that she is or isnt a she,,,,and egg bound problems.
If you know he's a he...then the Dr can immediately move onto thier next thought. That is the only reason I had all my guys done.
make sence?
i'm tired

Congrats, Kris! Doesn't it feel great to know she is healthy. I would get the dna test too, I like to know for sure.

Thanks!! I'll get her DNA sexed when I take her back for her wing "fixing" By the way, when will Summer go through her first molt?? The vet said that that's when Summer will lose those "hacked" wing feathers, then we'll just have to wait until they re-grow to get her the proper wing clip. Thanks again!

Usually every 6 months or so, tho they dont loose all the feathers, so it might take 2 moults.
