Weaning questions

Okay as you guys read I just got my CAG Monday. The breeder told me she's still on 2 a day formula for another week or 2. My CAG is eating fine with her seeds, fruits, and veggies. How can I tell when she doesn't not need to be hand fed anymore? Or do I start cutting it to 1 a day and phase it out? Thanks guys!

She will most likely start refusing it when she is ready.
Keep feeding 2x day and a little less each time.

I would really like to know how your breeder knows when your bird will be done with the weaning process....all birds are different! There is no set time when your bird should be weaned- just keep offering the formula until your baby completely refuses it. Continue to offer lots of other good things for her to eat and pretty soon formula will be a thing of the past. Don't ever cut back just because you think, or somebody else thinks, your bird should be weaned.
