Few thoughts on a Sunday morn
Hi all,
Timmy is doing well. He seems to like my wife, allows her to do the step-up and son. However he loves my 17yr old son, when ever he is in the room he trys his best to get to him. He even will dance with my son. My son is still kind of gun shy of Timmy though. Because the other day he allowed Timmy onto his shoulder for the first time. I walked into the room and Timmy slightly pierced my sons left ear. Anyway, Timmy tolerates me and thats about it. I mean he isnt 3 foot away from me. I have attempted the step-up and instead I bleed for my troubles. I tell Timmy no in a normal tone. Even though it hurts like ......I dont wanna scare him. It's kind of hard to give Timmy is favorite treat when there are five of you in the house. It gets a little aggravating though, when the son could be doing what I wish to do with Timmy, however he is to afraid. Of course I will not give up, I'll bleed a bit more tomorrow when I attempt it again. Hopefully that will stop after his visit to the doc Thursday. Timmys top beak is pretty long and curved, so it has not much choice but to pierce my skin. Thats my ramblings for a Sunday Morning. SO far I am losing the battle but I wont lose the war. |

I feel your pain. One year ago I adopted (against my husband's wishes) a CAG and I couldn't wait for her to warm up to me. My husband wanted nothing to do with any of the responsibilities that go along with bird ownership and I convinced him I would take care of it all. Well, here it is one year later and she absolutely adores my husband and likewise. They spend there evenings snuggled up on the couch watching tv. They are best friends and I'm just the maid and cook. She "Tolerates" my presence in the flock, but absolutely LOVES my husband....go figure.

I hope that isnt our case. IF it is I will have to learn to be the distant relative. Settle for being able to hand him a treat, feed, clean the cage.
Does anyone know of any bird shows that come to Indiana ? |

I think there are 2 in Indianapolis every year. 1 in Spring, another in the Fall. There was a bird show in Terra Haute this summer as well. There might be more up north. I am in southern Indiana, so I don't keep up on the north part. Here is a link that might help though.
