Doesnt anyone else get this

Zoey is rarely inside her bedroom (cage). She is out from normally a hour after I wake until 9-10pm at night. When she is in her bedroom (cage) she gets at the bottom of it and grabs one bar and digs with one foot (claw). Like she is trying to break-out. It seems she really hates the inside of it, loves the outside.

Now of course I can get her to stop it of the night, easily. All I do is cover her bedroom up. I never cover the cage totaly she seems to like it a third covered, where she still is allowed to see us a sleep in our bed. Of course the room is dark, so she can sleep.

However on the rare occasion, like today. I have to run some errands, she will get in the bottom and dig away with that one foot. I dont wanna cover her bedroom. I dont want her to think she is being disciplined. However I dont wanna leave her out where she could roam and hurt herself either.

So does anyone have the same type issue, if so how did you solve it ?

There is nothing really to solve. The digging is natural grey behavior.
They do it alot when babies. They do it sometimes just because. They do it when they are older as part of nesting behavior.
Ya just got a normal grey there...doing normal goofy~grey things....
Emma who is going to be four, occasionally does it when she is waiting for dinner standing on my coffee table, waiting to be served!

Romeo does it cause he don't want to be in his cage. He bites & claws the bars trying to break them. He will pace back & forth trying to find a way out. He trys to sqeeze between the bars too. Crystal

Both of my Greys (CAG/TAG) do that as does my Senegal and in their cases it means "GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!" Just normal silly birds doing normal silly things.

Yep, you've got a normal grey doing normal grey weird behavior. Marley chicken-scratches in the upper corner of his cage when he wants out. Sometimes he does it just to do it. Nothing to worry about, I promise:^)

My Timneh African Grey does it too. She grabs a bar with her beak and tries to dig out with all her might. She is 6 1/2 months old.
