Timgo?

Hey everyone,
so anyways everyone that sees ajax says he's quite small as a CAG and that he's more like a TAG.

a few months ago i noticed a part of his beak is a lighter color (like a TAG) but i didn't think anything of it as i thought his beak was shedding some layers (but it's been a few months and it's still there)

so do you think that he is a cross breed between a TAG and a CAG (aka TIMGO)?

heres a pic of his beak

it's the best i could do as he tries to bit the camera as it gets too close
LOL

lil brat that i love so much

ps- all the CAGs i've seen have completely black beaks

Ah he's so cute. Looks like he's missing a few nails? Is there a story behind that?

Story here: Welcome Ajax

I love the name Timgo and the reason behind it. However, I too would assume CAG as well.

Yes, CAG. I agree with what Lisa suggested.

okie dokie

that makes me feel better as i was a little concerned

his beak was black when i FIRST got him but then it turned that color a bit after..... and i'm pretty sure he didn't hurt himself in my care as we have things padded in his cage

he's missing 5 of his nails and some of his toes
but here's a pic the day he arrived home

as u notice he was quite underweight... and we had to cut off his breeder's band as it was on too tight (almost cutting off circulation)

so now he does not have one but i have the cut band somewhere in the house
LOL

Hey Ajax's mom~ I'm getting my little CAG soon, and I'm pretty sure she's on the underweight side too.. hard to tell because she has some over-preening/plucking issues. (the one I was asking about who is not bare, but has fluff and and is feathered about halfway down the chest) What have you been doing to fatten yours up? She has been on a varied diet of Harrison's, seeds, and fresh stuff, but I think because she's a little high strung, maybe cold from last of insulation, and bird-store stress, that she just burn's it off. Do you (or does anyone) know a particular food that helps them put weight back on?

I won't be taking her to the vet for 2 weeks to a month after I get, so she can settle in.
thanks!

Your baby is beautiful!! So what if he has a messed up toe or two? That means he has character :)

Maybe the beak incident happened before you got him, and it didn't finish "dying" until after you had him. Poor baby. I'm happy he ended up in a good home.

Did you report the breeder to whomever deal with animal negligence or abuse in Canada? If your baby is like this, it may have been the breeders, especially since she told you the baby was in perfect health. Even if they are innocent, there's nothing wrong with being careful!
