Question New Grey Advice

Hi, I am new here. I have a B&G macaw named Harley and we are going to look at a CAG this Friday. We were supposed to go last Sunday, but due to bad weather and an hours drive, we couldn't make it and we are going to go this Friday. I am very excited. I have never owned a grey before, so if you could please give me an idea of what you do on a daily basis. The CAG is a 6 yo female who the people cannot keep due to lifestyle changes and they know that they cannot provide her with the best care.
What is their diet? Do they have any preffered treats? What health problems are they prone to, etc... Information over the internet has not been very helpful. I thought I could get a better idea by asking people who live with these amazing birds...
Here is some general info on her:
Her name is Molly. She has a nice large cage (I am guessing fairly new and maybe Stainless steel) She is 6 years old, good talker, doesn't have a preferance for men or women. Is used to children, has lots of toys and perches. She is also fed on a pelleted diet (I would think with fruits and veggies, as that is what it sounded like). Any and all advice is welcome!!!
Oh yes, she will not be kept with my macaw

Same basics as your B&G, good variety of pellets, seeds, nuts and fruits/veggie anything healthy she will eat! Treats will depends on what she likes. I am sure the currents owners will fill you in.

One dust bird probably won't cause too many problems with your B&G, especially if you can put them across the room from eachother and get an sir filter. Our Sophie talks and answers Kianna, it gets pretty funny, they have a wall between them, and they talk through the doorway LOL!!!

Remember, if you do bring her home, give her some time to get use to her new surroundings. Congos have a tendency to just sit back and watch what's going on. If at all possible, sit next to her cage and talk softly to her. Let her know what's going on, who people are and what different things in the house are. You'll be amazed at how smart these guys are.

VERY IMPORTANT........... Quarantine her AWAY from your BG for 30 - 45 days.

I'm seeing more and more people that have both BGs and Greys. I had my Greys first, and will be bringing a BG home in a couple of months.

Good luck with everything!!! You're going to love it!

Great advice. I also would suggest finding out when the last time the Grey was checked by a Vet. I also would set up a Vet check when you bring the Grey home and as suggested by Greyburd that you quarantine initially.
