Talking My baby comes home on Monday!!

I just got the email from my breeder...my baby that they thought was a girl is actually a boy..so its ZAZU!!! And she said he will be ready to go on monday! I was shooting for the middle of the month so I am as excited as could be!!

This is ridiculously exciting!!

Now for my next story....

I have been going to a pet shop near where I live for a month now and they have a Timneh that has been there for about 4 years now So I have gone in a couple times to see him, talk to him, and I even held him when the people working there said he probably wouldn't like me because he doesn't like strangers!

My big plan was to get my new baby, have him settle in and then see about the TAG. They are asking way to much for him, but they have hinted that they would lower his price. Anyway, I just went in tonight and found out they are planning to move him to another place because they can't sell him. The staff there is pretty upset about this because they know a move for him isn't good, he needs to go to a home where he can bond with someone and be spoiled. So I am going back in there on Wednesday to talk to the right person to see about lowering the price on him so they can get that boy a home!!

Any wise advise from anyone, or suggestions! On the one end I am totally stoked about my CAG, but now I am stressed about my sweet boy TAG!

Well congrats on Zazu coming home!!!! And congrats on him being a boy!

As for the TAG I kind of know what you are going through. We fell in love with a CAG at a petstore and put a deposit down so we could buy a cage (for alot less than they sell at the petstore), he was also really overpriced. But the petstore screwed us over and sold him the next day even though we had put a deposit down. We were so sad, so that is when we went out and found Scarlett. I hope everything works out with your TAG, but in the end what is meant to be will happen. Good luck!!

Don't forget to post lots of pictures of Zazu!!

yay zazu! i know how excited you are cuz i was freaking when it was the day before getting kona! haha

awww and i feel bad for the other birdie. our hyacinth macaw has been at our store for four years. no one expects her to sell since they're asking like 13,000 for her. but we all love her and hope she stays at OUR store. it's molly's baby. i'm not sure how she'd actually react if she went to someone else, she's a bird that really IS bad with strangers, it took her forever to get used to me.

Thanks you guys. I got like no sleep last night thinking about the whole situation. the thing is, I HOPE someone else buys the bird! I really just want to focus on my baby, and it will be a tight fit to put the other cage in my apartment. BUT, if no one else buys that little guy, I kind of feel forced to! My heart goes out to the little guy, he is so beautiful and sweet! But I agree with you Doylesmom, what happens is what is meant to happen, so I can't let myself get to stressed about it. Even if my boyfriend IS calling me a future animal hoarder, lol!

LOL! My brother always says that about me, that I am going to be on animal cops for hording. But this is our last animal for a LONG time. Unless some bird comes along that really needs us. But you are right to focus on your baby!

Congratulations on your baby, that is going to be so much fun!!!

If I were you, I think I'd let my baby CAG get settled before worrying about the TAG - but that is so much easier said than done!

Personally, I can't imagine having two of these guys - one is certainly distraction enough but if you and the little TAG have hit it off, then it might be worth going for, especially to save him some stress of moving without being able to have a home and a family.

I 'overpaid' for my CAG but it was worth it to have a very well socialized, well bred and amazing little bird so if you can afford it and really do want the baby TAG I wouldn't let that stop you.

Remember, that new birdie vet checks cost a few hundred dollars (for all the wellness pannels and tests) which might be another reason to wait instead of getting two at once.

Oh please you guys. You all have nothing on me in the animal hording department!! I have two birds, four dogs now, one just showed up here the other day that needed a home, four barn cats and six Mustangs. Yeah six. It's hard not to help these guys out if you have the space and the moolah for their care and upkeep. What's another one? Right? My hubby just rolls his eyes and says something like, "You can't save them all you know.." But I think that maybe I can. I can try anyway. Just the ones that REALLY need me. Besides, it's HIS money I'm using, not mine. Not that I have an income other then what he brings home....I'm evil, I know. Pity my poor husband.

I think Tiffany's right though "Whatever" and by the way, I thought you were changing that name? Anyway, if it's meant to be it shall be. Even if you have to make it happen. That's a hard one. I actually thought of getting a baby TAG here in another year or so, but Tully is such a time eater. I really don't think I personally could handle two at once. People do with no issue, but I don't think I can. Tully's a needy little booger though. Wish I could give you some good advice. I just don't have any. Just listen to your heart. Corny I know, but do it anyway. Then let us all know what you did!!

This puts me up to 2 dogs, 1 foster dog, 1 horse, and 1 bird! I am going in tomorrow to talk to the people about the TAG to see if they are willing to lower the price so he can go to a home before being shuffled around some more. The ONLY reason that I think I could do this is because my boyfriend is as much an animal lover as me, and this way, we can each have a bird. He is worried that our baby will only love me, or him. So this way, it could be one person-to one bird. If it was just me against two birds......it would be a huge NO! I will keep you all updated!

Also, my Zazu comes home on Sunday instead of Monday!

Now that I know what my baby's name is, I can change my name from "whatever" ; )

Good luck with the TAG!! Let us know what they say!
