I am currently watching a CAG for the week while my mother in law and grandma go to Vegas.
The bird has been with my girlfriends uncle for about 8 years and now with the mom and grandma. The bird loves my girlfriend but does not like me.
The first time I put my hand out for him to stand on my finger he took my finger in his mouth and bit down. I did not flinch or yell at him at all. I left him alone for a while and then tried to have him come on my hand again. He was ok with it. I gave him to my gf to hold and I then put my hand out again to come stand on mine and he bit me again.
Is there anyway that i can let him know that I am ok and that I am not going to hurt him? I am very nice to him never yell at him or raise my hand to him but he does not like me for some reason.
Please help me make Austin my friend!!!!

I would not have tried to pick the bird up while it was with your girlfriend. If he likes her better he is most likely not going to come to you while she is around. work with him when she is not around, and try to take him away from the cage to work with him. just keep talking to him and giving treats and such, he may come around after awhile......he may not ; )
