I'm eagerly awaiting my new baby CAG arrival. It looks like maybe 3 more weeks before its ready to come home. I still don't have sexing results on it yet--they should arrive in another week; then I'll know if I have a Elphaba or a Fiyero. I've been to visit it about every other day and its just soooo sweet and cuddely. He/She was born May 1 and is a big CAG--weiging in a 483g at 8wks old. Jack (breeder) is thinking its a she, even though its large. At this point, I don't care what it is, I love it!!
I'm a little worried about how my year and a half Goffin Cocatoo (Chaucer) will react to a baby. Chaucer tends to be more of my husband's bird, so I'm a little worried about his jealousy. Any suggestions? We're going to start by placing the CAG's small cage close to Chaucer's so he can get used to the idea of another bird in the house. We have 4 dogs that Chaucer seems to love being around, so we're hopeful this is a good indication for introducing a new bird. I'm really hoping that in a few months I can at least have them out on the same tree perch we just purchased.
Anyone with suggestions about introducing a new baby into my exising family will be greatly appreciated
