Hello!!

hey guys,

I am a fairly new grey momma to Mango, my almost 2 year old CAG. Mango was my groundhog's day gift to myself. Since I was 5 or 6 years old I only dreamed of owning one of these beauties, I still have a hard time believing I finally have my very own grey and he is right here in my house lol. he has been with us not even 2 months yet but in all honesty it feels like he has been here all his life.

He had a good home before, but the woman had so many parrots, and she was getting up there in age so she needed to rehome 1 and Mango was the one. He went up for sale in november but when I went looking in late December early January, he was still available, he had been purchased twice before but both people backed out, I don't know why but am I ever glad they did. I am thrilled to have him, its been an incredible 2 months.

He is a mischevious grey, he has taken the habit of calling the dog, who will go to him to be nipped by Mango, this goes on for a few minutes until the dog finally says "I am done" and ignores the "Quincy come" from Mango. He likes to play peekaboo and is currently learning his colours, so far he knows green. he loves to eat but even more that that he loves to make a mess while eating. He thrives on sharing dinner with me on the nights we have bird safe dinners and will politly perch beside my plate and help himself, as long as he is not leaving footprints through my mashed potatoes its all good.
He hates a bath and will flat out refuse every method of bathing. I took him in the shower with me the other day as a last attempt at enticing him....nope he hated it and stood on teh shower floor with one foot up in the air yelling "up up" until I picked him up and took him out. he loves to chew toys until they are unreckognizable

All in all he is pretty amazing, Here are some pics of my family.

This is of course Mango enjoying his...err my dinner

This is Quincy, he is a True hairless Palamino chinese crested, he will be 4 in June

And this is my 5 year old daughter Jillian. This pic portrays Mango as a HUGE bird but my he isn't. My daughter suffers from Pituitary dwarfism so its not that he is huge, its that she is tiny.

Shower perches always worked for us. Scarlett hated baths, but with a shower perch safely at the back of a shower, she would get just a little wet. . . .and then we started misting her before putting her in, and she realized she kind of like how it felt to get a bath. Took a few months, but it worked.

You can get shower perches at any PetsMart, PetCo. . . .etc. The one for their size is about $24 here.

Gorgeous baby there, and gorgeous bird.

Shower perch is the way to go. Back out of the way - he will benefit from the steam and moisture.
