How low can a bird go for an addiction? (pics lol)

We're trying to get Izzy to see the light of an unhealthy sunflower seed diet. However, he staged his amazing escape tonight "unseen"!

The Plot:

Scanning the room... anyone there?

Almost there! Long climb down the cage, very stealthy!

Woot, there's the bag! Have to move quietly now!

Pay Dirt! Oh lovely sunflower seeds! I have missed thee!

Oh noes! CAUGHT!

/cough, btw, we DO vacuum. Several times a day. /blushes at messy floor.

Cute, Cute, they are so smart. I made Max a "doll toy stuffed with treats" and he was the same. I think maybe he thought once he figured it out I would take it away. LOL..

Is that for all birds or just Greys? Scarlett gets a peanut or two every once in a while because we heard they were good treats. . . .

He couldn't care less about the peanuts, it's the sunflower seeds that has him in a tizzy lol. I had a paper bag full of other stuff in my hand this morning and he started making a frantic huffing noise and rushed me for it lol. He's got it bad.

This is part of an article I wrote about this subject.

Amie....naw...

"They are known to harbor the aspergillus spores and aflatoxins, which can be found in the peanuts and the shell.

Aflatoxins, what are they? Two known strains of fungi that produce aflatoxins, which are carcinogenic and toxic compounds, are the Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus.
These are found in peanuts and peanut based products. It is believed the aflatoxins form on peanuts during the drying or transportation process. Correct heat and moisture play a crucial roll.
Peanuts that are contaminated with aflatoxins do not appear any different than non-contaminated ones, and they cannot be distinguished by the human eye. They only way to notice the difference is by using UV light.

They are grown underground and have several fungal organisms they can hide. Most obvious being the Blackhull, where there are black spots on the actual shell. The nut itself can become infected too."

What a beautifu bird. I had always thought I would like to have a Gray, but I have heard that they are very dusty and I have terrible allergies. I am thinking about a ringneck parakeet or even maybe a budgie.

I have a Sun Conure right now. I would like to get him a brother/sister
