Unhappy Thrashing problem.

I have a 1 year old CAG named Jordy. He has a problem with his wings, he has broken alll of his flight feathers off and on the tips of his wings were so bad at one point (4 months ago) that they bled. I took him to the vet as soon as I discovered it. I thought he was chewing his feathers but she told us it was from thrashing.
The good news is his wing tips are fully healed but the feathers aren't growing back, the tips are bare. He is going through a molt right now but the broken wings are still there. They are bare like needles and I am worried that he may not grow his feathers back.
I have a huge cage for him 36" deep, 48" wide and 48" hight. I actually took two cages and attached them together. I also used to keep him in an aviary with the rest of my flock (14'x 12') whom are all full flighted but they would harrass Jordy and he would jump off what ever perch he was on and end up thrashing his wigs and tail feathers. Not to forget the wound he developed on his chest. I cried when I discoverd the state he was in.
Everything is fine now (fingers crossed). His tail is all grown back. His cheat is all healed. His cage is no longer in the aviary with the rest of the flock. He gets fresh vegies and fruit every morning. He eats his pellets. Drinks his water. Plays with his toys (really fun to watch). He gets 4-6hrs out of his cage. He still gets suppervised time in the aviary. Talks and sings. Answers my calls and is attentive when I give attention to him (wich is alot :) ). So everything should be OK right. But it's not.
He had one of his flight feathers almost grown back (4-5" long) on his right wing. I was excited because it meant that soon he was going to to beable to enjoy some flight. It's just that one day after I got home from work I noticed that the feather was broken and it eventually broke right off. I was crushed.
He is abviously still thrashing and I am at my wits ends as to what I should be doing.
I heard that vets will pluck the broken feathers so they will grow back but the vet I saw didn't give me that option. Has this happened to anyone else before? I am sure it has but it's so hard to see Jordy in a state where I know he's hurt or at least can't be all that comfortable.
I will be so appreciative of anyone that can give me any advice that doesn't involve giving him away (god forbid) or giving him more room (he has all the room he wants and his cage is bigger than any one I can buy). But plaese if you feel that the problem is space I would love to hear what you suggest. Maybe I have thing set up wrong. I will post some pics later to help give an idea of what I am working with.
Thank you in advance.

hi, sorry to hear of your baby's nervousness.
I wouldnt pluck out the feathers. its painful to them, and there is no guarentee that they will grow in either. He has a better chance like you are letting him do , one at a time. Some birds are nervous. I believe, and it might be just me, that it comes from genentics. nervous parents=nervous babies.
some pics would be of help. He might be afraid of something in his environment. do you have any other pets?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes I have a few other pets. 6 other parrots, 3 dogs, 1 cat and some roddents that are in another part of the house.
2 of our dogs will never see Jordy because of their temperment. Our other is a border collie and is not interested in Jordy at all. He is allowed in the same room (the TV/living room) and Jordy doesn't seem bothered by him at all. Perhaps it's the Rosella. She is rarther new, 2 months. She is in a cage next to his. But he hasn't shown any sort of fear of her. He will evern go over to her cage and try and snack at her food and play with her toys. She seems more bothered by this than anything. I would like to keep her beside him to give him company while we are at work.
I will look further into this as I think you may be on to something.
Thank you.
Pics tomorrow.
