Question Do Birds Burp?????

Last night while I was on the puter in the living room I was startled by large Belch!, then I gave my wife that accusing look and she looked just as surprized as I, and then she blurted out"It wasn't me!" then our gazes shot right over to CJ our new CAG whom was sitting right behind my wife in his cage, yep he had that guilty look alright. She thinks he really burped and I think he just mimicked a burp, how could such a belch (like the ones I have after a few beers) come out of a one pound bird???? or can they really burp.

Oh! I almost forgot! we made a break through with him this morning! while my wife was doing the daily fresh food & water thing, as soon as she put her hand into the cage he came over to her hand and put his head down and against her hand wanting scritches! she scritched him a little bit then he just beaked her hand playfully as if to give her kisses and then he backed off! He has not let us touch him like that unless we wanted "the Beak of death" My wife was so excited, she is realizing that our patience is paying off.........LMB

I cannot answer your question, but I did once hear a very loud belch come from my CAG's cage and I swear that she did burp.

Read the thread here on 4/10 that says Great now he burps! That may answer your question. It's hilarious

My three greys do all the body functions - yes its a mimmick - they don't really belch. My Charlie says Ahhh afterwards whenever he belches and farts. The worse part is sometimes he says "are you ready? " before he does both and follows it with a "sh$%" Ahhh". He didnt get it from us.
