New Izzy update ...and pics!

Well, Izzy has finally found out that he actually likes getting petted. He demands his evening hour long scratch time and will often hunker down on my Mother's lap to rest and watch television. They're settling in beautifully now. It's hilarious, my daughter was watching Ratatouille and Izzy watched it with her, and he went bananas for it - dancing and whistling, swingining upside-down like a mad-man lol. So, he gets to watch it every day now, to his delight. Silly bird.

I love Izzy. He's such a character! We just got our CAG, so whenever people ask me what African Greys are like I also tell them stories I read about your bird

Izzy is beautiful. I am weighing the pros and cons of adding a Grey to my family (it's just me and a Hahns). Your pictures are big additions to the plus side.

Izzy's wonderful. We had such a time with him at first though. We've now learned that as long as we do what he says, it's all good and we may be gifted with the opportunity to touch his feathers ...as long as we don't stop for at least an hour, even if he seems to be dozing. It's strictly a test of our loyalty to our liege, you know. He fakes sleep, we stop petting, he opens one eye and clicks his beak to tell us we're losing favour! lol

What's hilarious is my Mom is a little bit of a thing, and always scared of anything bigger than a parakeet. She thought my conures were big! So, here comes this 600 gram grey monster giving her the baby eyes and clucking at her. Total melt on her end lol. It's funny to see her gardening outside, Izzy on her shoulder, telling her which way to go by yanking on her hair like reins. I'm going to try and get a picture of that, but sadly it won't show it like a video would. Curses, I need a video cam!

We should start a club..."Hahn's owners who also want a Grey." We could have our own support group and stuff! I already picked a name for my Grey...have you?
