I didn't mean that he HAD to use his new swing the way it was intended to be used, of course not - it is just the fact that he squashes himself up there. This toy did not come with a chain - it is hooked on the top of his cage it has a hook and just one ring, so there is basically no room up there even for a smaller sized bird. I just measured it and there is only 2 1/2 inches between the top of the swing and the roof of the cage.

The picture I showed is not of the exact swing, it is of one that is close to what I got him - it's the only picture I could find online. It does not have a bell - is different colors, no chain, etc. As far as a boing - he already had a boing that I have hanging for when he is outside of his cage. I just bought him this new swing because I thought he would enjoy it more then his boring swing.

My CAG loves to sit on top of his swing. Same as yours, he's got very little space at the top (Maybe 3 1/2 inches). I think that the tight space and being up high makes him feel the safest when he's resting. He may look uncomfortable, but if he was, he wouldn't stay up there. I'd just let him stay up there if he wants to. My CAG almost never uses something I buy for him the way it was intended. He has a playstand with a big round tray under it. He likes to sleep on the supports under the tray!
