I'm thinking, since she's gaining weight, that it isn't really anything to worry about, but as Lisa B said, make sure to keep weighing her to make sure.

Some of our fids would make the "baby hungry whimper" for weeks after being weaned. It just wasn't as desperate as it was when they were being handfed and thought they were going to starve to death any time we were two minutes late with a feeding. Maybe it's just her way of saying "Hey, you, yeah, you. Come over here. I need you for . . . .something. I'm not sure what. But I need you. Now" You know, because Grey's can be drama queens!

I offer her every kind of food I can think of and she doesn't stop.... Her weight is still good and up. She has been here a week and gone from 367 to 390 as of today. if she is reverting back to hand feeding.... what can I do about that?

Thanks...... you guys are great for helping me out with this.......

If she's eating on her own and she's not losing weight, I think you're fine. It's like what Lisa said, she's begging b/c you're the parent & the food supplier. My baby Grey just recently finished weaning and she still begs occasionally. They do sound pitiful, but she's really ok. If she does revert back, you'll know b/c she won't eat on her own and she'll start losing weight. If she reverts then you'll have to start hand feeding her again and re-wean her. I think she's fine though! You're not the only getting their heart strings tugged by little meeping Greys with big dark baby eyes.

If you don't think she's eating her pellets and you are feeding her other stuffs seperatly, try mixing in some of her pellets in with the other stuffs like the bean mixture or what-not. S/he may not know that the pellets are infact food but just things in her cage. It took my Grey (Jordy ) a few weeks, and some coaxing before he realised that the pellets are food. They are a stubourn bunch them grey's.
When I first tried tried to ween him off the seed I wasn't sure how to go about it properly so I waqs mixing the pellets in with the seed. He would just toss them out and eat the seed (well mostly the peanuts and sunflower). So I started to put the pellets in with the fruit and veggies I feed him. At first it was the same story, frut and veg all good but no go for the pellets. Eventually (1-3 days) though he would just grab a pellet bite into it and then go onto the fuit and veg. Next thing you know he was sitting in his cage munching away on his pellets.
Another thing is that s/he may not like the pellets you have. Jordy will only eat 2 different kinds. Zupreem Harvest veg and Trpican Lifetime. Plus he will only eat the one kind of Zupreem. I tried to give him another kind for variety and he through his dish on the floor. I had to try a different kind because the store neer my house stopped selling that flavour of Zupreem so I got another one. He hated that. Tried about 5 different brands/flavours and it was all the same. Dish on the floor. Went on a tour of the city until a found a supplier that carried it and he hasn't thrown his dish since.
To make a long story short, just try mixing it in with whatever your Fid does eat and if that doesn't work try another type/brand.
Ceers and good luck.
