Cozi left today

My sweet little Cozi Bear left today and went to his new home. I went with him to help them set everything up, go over his diet with them, and make sure he got settled.

Cozi went with his cage, and everything he had in it, plus his food, so he will have all of his things. Cozi was a little scared at first, but nothing major and he settled down very nicely.

I was hard to leave him there and once I walked out of his sight he started calling for me like he always does, but I know he will be fine and it is better this way for him and me. I will be able to see him anytime I want - I will probably go over Sunday to check on him and say hi as I plan to go to my parents house on Sunday anyway.

I have a few pictures I took of Cozi his last night with me - these are the last pics I took of him

This is my favorite one -

Cozi Bear I miss you already and will always love you.

I can only imagine how hard that was for you. You did the right thing for both of you. I had two amazons and 4 budgies and had no problem with my asthma. I didn't even have a inhaler until this winter, and only need it once or twice a month. In the first week I had Indy here, I needed it 4 times in that week. Grey dust can be hard if you have allergies. I'm very lucky that my filter is enough. Enjoy your new baby

i know saying sorry doesnt help the fact that your cozi is gone ! but this was for the best, and sometime we have to make these sacrafices to better our lives or even our pets. a few years ago i met this women who was moving and could not take her african grey, scooter, with her. She thought i would be the best home for him and wanted me to take him.. he was only 2 at the time and previously only liked women... so she was very worried he would be depressed and be very scared leaving his home. The first night we had him he seemed a little nervous for the first 5 minutes and then began talking and flapping and begging for scritches! in the end, he ended up bonding with my dad. I think Scooter knew he had to leave his home not because he wasnt loved, but because it was the best thing for him! he ended up bonding very closley to my dad. its unfortunate though, because his previous owner was very upset.. but yet never kept in contact .. i tried calling but never got calls back, i wish she could have seen how happy he is now. Im glad you are planning to stay in cozi's life!

Beautiful baby. It's good (for both of you) that you can still be a part of his life.
