I have a 1.5 yr old sun conure and I might be getting a 9wk old grey. i wont be letting them stay in the same cage, but is there any chance of them getting along? my sun conure is very tame.

I have a 4 year old sun conure and I am getting a TAG when it is fully weaned. I hope that they will get a long too, but I won't trust them alone together ever. My sun can have an attitude and I don't want them to get in to a fight. That isn't to say that they can't be out of the cages at the same time, just going to keep them seperated...I say if it is something you want, then go for it.

I have a CAG, a sun/dusky conure, and a B&G, the B&G doesn't mind the conure or the CAG, but the CAG goes after the conure every chance it gets, and all the conure wants is to get to know either one, he's that sweet.
The two larger birds tolerate each other I guess its the size of their beaks that do that..............LMB

I brought my Grey home at 12 weeks old and she does not like our other birds at all. She was raised around sun conures and lovebirds, but that doesn't seemed to have sweetened her attitude towards them at all. She doesn't straight out try to attack our other birds, but she will fluff up, put her head down, and get that gleam in her eye. I've actually had more problems with my sun conure trying to pick fights with her than the other way around. After a lot of work they are a lot more tolerant of each other, but they are never ever ever out together without a lot of close supervision.

Oscar (CAG) hangs out with Cheyenne pretty much all day, and even though they don't come into actual contact with each other, they do really well. The only problem is that if Cheyenne swings her tail past Oscar's face... CHOMP! Oscar has a habit of grabbing macaw tails!
Now Oscar and Oliver, on the other hand... I can't trust those two along for very long!

We have one Sophie who is buddies with Ginger (M2), but our other CAG Earl refuses to "allow" any other bird near him or his cage, including Sophie! CAG's seem to be very territorial over what they feel is thiers. Not all do, I have seen some that are fine with other birds. It will depend on the bird. Just go slow and let them decide over time.
