My CAG male weighs 457

There is usually a slight difference between average weights of males and females.

Oh, also...when they fledge, they tend to lose weight...they should NOT lose more than 10% of their body weight...but they do lose some due to the flying!

Bing was just weighed at the at the vets and he came n at 395g. He is around 20 weeks old now. I thought he was on the big side, probably because I only have Dave to compare him to, but I found out he really isn't.

I'm afraid Xaf's Izzy would kick sand in little Bing's face if he saw him at the beach! I think Izzy is the Arnold Schrawzeneger of African Greys.

LOL! I agree. Looks like Zoe and Bing not only share the same birthday, but the are the same size too.

I think that Izzy would be a big teddy bear though as he probably has a great mom. :)

My CAG, Leo, but may have to be renamed to Lea, weighs 425-ish. He/she is 13 months old and a chatterbox.

Hmph! Izzy's too dignified to kick sand in Bing's face. Though, he's found a new, neat trick. Instead of using his beak to say 'no', he now just drops his head and rams you, demanding pets. He's learned the fine art of distraction! LOL

Here's a pic of Mister Izzy after being told it's bed time. As you see, the Mastermind carrying out his devious plot of distracting his humans by assuming the Petting Position. His diabolical plan worked, btw. He got 30 more minutes of petting. Dastardly bird!

It looks like Izzy still has what a lot of people call spotted pajama bottoms. Bing has them too. A lot of people have told me he will lose them with his first molt but it looks like Izzy didn't. I think they're kind of cute.

Izzy is a very dignified looking bird. I take back any comments that would have implied something else!!!

Pffsst, does he look dignified in his PET ME! position? hehe

He actually hasn't had his first full molt yet, he's only ..hmm *counts on fingers* 9 months old, I think. He's a late molter, I guess. He did do a head molt, but I swear, he only did it on his head, and his feathers came in lighter than ever. He's due soon though, I figure next month or September he'll finish the molting. Then, I'm sure he'll lose his pink little fanny feathers lol. I just hope he lets the red tail feathers stay, as he bit off all the black tipped ones lol. I'm not sure what he'll do when he realises the black ones won't come back again.

Oh.. and.. doesn't he look rather psycho with that expression on his face? LOL

Ha! Mine does that too! Except she's a bit more ladylike in her approach. Whenever she wants to be petted, Rowan climbs up to my chest, makes kissy noises and then plants her beak on my cheek. It's so cute! I have no idea where she got it from, but I can't resist it either.

Reading this thread inspired me to weigh Oscar again! According to my "records", he's gained a little weight... He's now 466g. When he was younger, he was only 410g, so he has certainly gained quite a bit!
And Izzy? She's monsterous!!!!
