Bela Update

She is at the vets now. :( the tech won't be in until later (would have been helpful if they told me that earlier today). So I'm guessing they're also looking to observe to see if it is behavioral although, I have to tell you, she defiantly plucked a feather infront of us while at the vets. So yes, she's ticked - I would be too with all the running to the vets (these are new people too as her old vet retired).

It was the hardest thing having to walk out of there without her. I'm supposed to go to work and pick her up later in the day but I'm just a puddle of mush here. Trying to keep it together because I have another grey and and Eclectus that don't understand. It's times like this I wonder 'what the hell have I done to us?'

Will advise as I get more from the vet.

I hear ya. I have had to walk out, and leave them behind...it breaks your heart.
Just try to relax. Easier said then done, but worrying wont make the time go any faster. know she's with people who can help her, and that you will see her in a few short hours.
Keep us posted.

We are home and she was quite happy to see me (so I think). She was like a little bull the whole way home, scratching the floor of her cage. As soon as we walked in the house back to her cage, she changed. Something here is definately not right. Almost looked horrified. I wonder if Wizzo said something to her. I know she fell in her cage a few days ago (before the vet visit), wonder if it's something in there she's freaked out over.

She is eating now so it hasn't freaked her out too much apparently, but I'm watching her.

I'm glad she's home with you now. You are doing everything you can. It's times like these we wish our animals could "tell" us what's wrong. Must be very hard being a vet.

No, but I think Picasso and Wizzo carrying on isn't helping. She's been my little shadow since we returned home (my doing) and I even popped in one of her videos - it's the all Bela show - her dancing, talking etc. it perked her up and I'm Bela this Bela that, etc. She's talking up a storm and no picking. Ehhhh, still won't rule out blood work - results tomorrow, but the finger may be pointing straight to mom.

I had spent time recently with Wizzo my other grey rehome and we were just making progress with her. That and Picasso is easy to love, so I think she was feeling jilted. Again, we'll see what happens tonight...well, what I find tomorrow morning.

Hopefully it is something that simple. Let us know how the results turn out.

My dogs act off if they havent gotten their alone time.

Looks like Bela may have just set your bird limit for you.
