trick training

Hi all,
Just wanted to say thanks again for the screaming help. I have started to train Kakashi to turn but every time I start training he does this. YouTube - Cute African Grey The longer I train the more excited he gets. After about a minute he doesn't even take the treats and just holds his wings down and makes a whimpering noise. He doesn't seem to be paying attention at all. Is there a way to keep him from doing this? Can I still train him while he's doing this? He's usually worse but because of the dog he's a little distracted. We usually have a quiet place with no distractions because I put the dogs away while training but they followed me out when I got the camera.

He is showing you typical love posturing and and the little grunts is that he wants to mate. Thats another reason he could be screaming when he leaves the room. You have taken on his love interest roll.
He's being a typical grey in love.
only thing I suggest is not to pet on the back or grab his beak. that is all things a mate would do in return.

So those little grunts means he wants to mate, LisaB? Oscar has been making those noises since he was 7 months old! Especially when he's getting a shower. Hmmmm

Does that mean he's older than I think? I was thinking he was only around 2 years old. Can you really tell how old greys are by their eye color? If so, I'll include a picture. His eyes we that color when I bought him. Should I not train him? He only does this really bad when I try to teach him a new trick. Or do you think maybe eventually he'll finally catch on that it's time to study and become a good student? Sometimes when I pick him up he'll do it but a lot more mild. Anyway, here's a picture.
