Is there anything I can do to prepare my bird for a new home?

Hi all,
Just in case you don't remember me, I posted a little while ago for advice about screaming. Around that time, I found out that there's an embargo on importing birds from Korea to the US. I was so heartbroken because this means I won't be able to bring my bird back with me 2 years from now when we return. I decided that instead of keeping him the 2 years and then finding him a home, it would be better to find a home right away. I've had him for about 4 months and although he's very attached to me, I'm hoping that he'll be able to adjust easier now since it hasn't been that long. My question is, how can I make this transition easier for him? He doesn't like other people, so I can't let him play with anyone, but is there something else I can do?
