Question (Not so) odd behaviour?

I have started to familiarize my grey with the rest of my home and he seems to be doing well so far. The only thing is he head buts the couch. Each time he is walking around on the living room floor, he will look under the couch and then head butt it several times. Has any body experienced this or have an idea what it could mean?

sounds like just a silly quirk your baby has! I think every bird has a little quirk or silly thing they do that doesn't make sense!

no
i have no clue what it means
but ajax use to head butt his bird buddy in the cage...

some say it's a baby begging thing
or he is hungry

but for ajax's case it wans't trye
we tried to feeding him and putting him bak into his cage and he still head butts his bird buddy

this usually happens when we get home or when we are leaving the nest
so in our case it meant "i don't wanna stay in my cage TAKE ME OUT! TAKE ME OUT!!!!!!"

he no longer head butts his birdy buddy

here's a vid of him doing it when he was younger
