You could spell it OptiMISS.

I'm really glad all of the tests came back clear and that she is adjusting so well to her new home. She sounds like a special bird.

I like the OptiMISS But seriously--I feel so blessed to have her. I have been dreaming of a grey for many, many years (since I was about 12--and at 43, I think I'm one of the old ladies on this board). When I was a kid, my parents wouldn't let me have one. When I was married (for 16 LONG years ), hubby frowned upon my desires to form my own informal zoo. But now that I'm free, and a grown-up, I finally have the birdies of my dreams. I adopted Polly the Goffins just under a year ago, and now I have Optimus. Not to mention my other birdies and my two puppies (and kids!). But Polly and Optimus are very special. I could only afford them because they were second (or third!) hand birds, who weren't perfect. But they are both very, very beautiful, and perfect in my eyes. And they are going to be loved for a very long time.

You should watch the Transformers movie, it really was quite entertaining and then you'd see why Optimus Prime was such a cool character!
Sounds like she's doing great in her new environment and I'm happy for you both!

We named Gonzo before we knew she was a "she". We also decided to keep her name...its so hard to change it no matter how shortly after getting them, right?

Gonz has fattened up from PEANUTS. Its not uber-healthy but it made her gain at least 15 grams in the first month or so that we had her. After we figured out that they're majorly fattening we've limited her to one or no peanuts a day and they're a special treat.
