Visuallly Sexing Your CAG

I found a site that claims this is a pretty accurate way to visually sex a grey by the tail feathers. Click on the below link and see what you think.

Visual gender determination for African Grey parrots

This link may have been posted here already. If it has sorry.

While I highly respect Dr W's knowledge and enjoy having the opportunity to learn from her, I disagree wholeheartedly with the visual sexing of greys.
The only 100% sure method is either surgical which is not done much anymore or DNA.
while the silver tips are noted on my Princess Emma Lynn, (first pic)
Silver tips and even a grey tail feather are noted on Stirling, My 20 something year old DNA'd MALE!

If that website is right, then I might have to change Ozzy's name. UGH!

I don't know--it worked for me. The woman I adopted Optimus from had been calling her a "he" for 6 years. But as soon as I saw her, I thought female because I'd read that info. Sure enough, she was dna sexed female yesterday. I think it is somewhat accurate, but there will always be exceptions. If you 100% NEED to know the sex, then you have to do a dna test.

Here's some other methods that may or may not be accurate!

Sexing African Greys

Just keep in mind this works best on adults and not young greys who may still have some coloring up to do!

both?

If that website is right which I looked before this post, then Goose is both male and female, while I dont know what he is one picture of the silver tiped feathers says hes a girl but the white running into the red says hes a boy.

Goose is still young... is he not? Therefore, he could still be attaining his adult plummage and still have some adolescent feathers!

It's a guide, but it certainly doesn't mean it's correct! Lisa's Stirling proves that well enough! Maybe it just works for a large majority? Or who knows?
