I need advice

We need to purchase a cage for our new CAG. We found a cage with horizontal bars all the way around. It measure 67Hx36Lx24D. It opens on top, however, we would not have it open! The other one is a dome top, too. It has both vertical and horizontal bars around it. It measures
66Hx32Lx23D. Any advice as to which one would be better for a grey? I've also read that dome tops might not be the best choice for a grey. Any thougths on that?
thanks so much!!!!
lori

I have a U2, but I think either would work. Although I like the open top ones best.

Why wouldn't you open it?

They are pretty secure. I wouldn't see anything to worry about, plus I bet your gray would love it. Do you have pictures of each cage?

The first one is the one with the horizontal bars all around it. We're wondering though, is it better for a grey to have a rectangle cage and a playtop?

the thing that is nopt safe about the open top ones is that if u do not have it securly locked down *pad lock* that if your grey decides to be mischievious that his/her head will get stuck and or clamped when he/she tries to push open the doors but not strong enough to push it all the way

i do still llike the open top just make sure u pad lock it down when not in use
;)

For my macaw I have pad locks for all openings. He knows how to get out.

When closed, the top has a lock on it. I'm leaning more towards that one. Have you heard anything about greys not liking dome tops? That they prefer a cage with corners.

Thanks,
lori

even if the cage have a lock on it u need to get something that will ensure your grey will not get out when u are not home

better safe than sorry

then i guess padlock is not a good idea maybe a really good locker lock?
