Meet Pilot

Hello everyone! This is Pilot, my 14mo old CAG. He's crazy! He's been talking for a few months now but he is just now starting to perfect things. He knows everyone's name and calls them when they aren't in the room. He also rings like the telephone and then says "hello?" He barks like my 4mo old chihuahua and yells at the dogs to "lay down." His favorite thing to do is take a shower. He flaps all around, whisteling. I think he thinks he's hot stuff. Give him macaroni n cheese or macadamia nuts and he'll be your best friend forever.

Pilot is beautiful!! He sounds like a character! I have an (almost) 11 month old congo african grey and she (don't kno for sure about that) has been talking for a while now. She, too will ring like the phone and answer it and bark like the dog (actually the first time i heard her bark was about a week ago when I told the dog to speak...Willow barked instead of the dog!). Willow also learned to say "wanna cookie" (which we say to the dog and refers to a dog bone) but often gets a little confused and ends up saying "Willow cookie." Has pilot always enjoyed baths? I can't get Willow to enjoy baths at all!!

I've had Pilot since he was a little over 3months. I was lucky enough to find a breeder when he was a baby so I was able to visit him at the pet store until he was ready to go home. Sure wish I took a picture of him when he was only a few weeks old!

Pilot has pretty much always enjoyed baths. At first, he didn't know what to think..but I think he still liked it. I started off spraying him with a squirt bottle but now he just takes showers with me. He has a little play pen in the bath tub, but he never uses it. I guess he prefers to just walk around. I always worry about him in the shower. He'd stand right under the spray forever if I let him.

Very cute story about Willow. Pilot says "what" just like my sister. I was downstairs the other day, calling her name, and Pilot said "what." So I continue my conversation, without getting another response. Turns out I was talking to the bird instead of my sister.

Sounds like pilot is a great little fellow. When you shower together, is he on the bottom of the tub? I would recommend a shower perch so you can keep soap and shampoo off of him.

Shower

I have quite a big shower. It's a standing glass enclosed shower..doesn't have a tub. I bought him this big perch thing so that he can get out of the water if he wants but he'd rather walk around on the floor. I have to time my shampooing when he's on the other side.
