Optimus did that weird breathing again.

I had her out today, and she was doing that strange breathing and letting her little wings kind of hang again. It's weird--sounds very high in her resporatory system, not like it's in her lungs. And then about ten minutes later she was fine again. Most of the time she is perfectly perky and happy--eats well, very vocal, likes to interact. But this is the second time she has done this. I wonder if she has some respiratory damage from living with a smoker for 6 years? Or maybe these are like asthma attacks? She has tested negative for PBFD, Chlamydia, and Asper. as of now. Has also finished a 14 day round of antibiotics. Although come to think of it, her last dose of antibiotics was two days ago, and this is the first "attack" she's had since stopping. Maybe she does have some kind of bacterial thing going on, and needs stronger antibiotics or a longer course? Lisa--I got a video of her, but I can't figure out how to download it.

If you react to it... it may be a learned behavior as well. My dog has learned to sneeze to get treats... she could do David Letterman's "Stupid Pet Tricks"!

I would definitely look into it though... birds and respiratory probs are a bad mix.

if you have it off the camera, you can also send it to me via email if that is easier?

You should either be able to pop your memory card straight into the computer or use the lead which came with your camera. Just transfer the video to a folder of your choice so you know where to find it.

Don't have a card, I don't think? A cable came with the camera, but it's the same size as the one I use for my still camera, and it looks like I need a different size for the video camera? Oh, and Opti just threw up too. But I "think" she was regurgitating for the telephone? She took this weird stance when she saw it, strutted over to it, and proceeded to paw at it with her feet. Then she threw up on it. She did the head bobbing thing, so I think it was just regurgitating?

My apologies, I thought you'd shot some video on a digital camera Sorry, I don't know anything about video cameras as I use my digital camera for both pics and video.

Now why didn't I think of that? I should have grabbed my son's camera and shot some video with that. Though I don't think it has sound?

All the cameras in our household record video with audio but a friend of mine has one which records video but not audio. Worth a try though!

I'll check it out, so I'm ready for next time Optimus does her "thing". For now my dad is coming over tonight--maybe he can help?
