Thanks so much for all the great advice. We'll do a little bit each day to hopefully get him somewhat used to it.

I've only met a handful of Grey's that actually like water lol. I attribute Greys to the attitude's of young children. THEY don't want to bathe either!

Izzy's so bad, whenever someone merely turns the sink on, he starts with the wailing "Wwaarrwwaaaaaaaarraaahhhhh!" noises. When it rains, he's totally beside himself. Silly bird.

Lilly, on the otherhand, just sighs, clicks her beak, closes her eyes tight and deals with the baths. She's a survivor! LOL

How's it going with the showering Lori?

Mojo and Shinda have settled right down and no longer fly when I spray them. I'm sure they only tolerate, rather than enjoy, the daily shower but at least I no longer have to follow them around the room with the spray bottle!

Lori,
When I first brought home my Casey, he was a year old.............He had only been sprayed a few times. The owners said he hated water. So I started spraying him each morning, along with my other birds. At first he ran from the bottle or would growl and attack it! After about 4 weeks he started coming towards the bottle and now he lifts his wings and whistles as I spray him. He really enjoys it. I have even started taking him in the shower once a week.
So keep trying, because everything takes time!
Good Luck

Yvette

Paco's former family used a squirt gun for discipline and punishment so misting and showers are out. Some birds just hate it I guess. He takes a bath in his water bowl once in a while. He got a bath by force when he got into the laundry detergent (bright yellow cap, have since changed brands). I put him on the shower curtain rod or the tub rim while I shower, to try to get him used to the idea, but now he is too destructive. Not that the shower curtain is all that expensive, but replacing it daily is too much bother ..

When we first brought home Mr. he was not a fan of showers. We just kept spraying him and now I don't know if he likes it or just puts up with it lol. He will flap his wings really fast, try and drink the water, and shake his little red butt. When we shower him we just go on and on about how good he is and try and make it a positive experience for all of us lol.

I always think that the shaking of the bottom means they're happy so I would say your fella enjoys it

Mine try to drink from the nozzle too! When I'm spraying them I keep saying 'Good babies' in a soft, high voice and I think this calms them.
