Hope is doing well!!

As most of you know Lizzie left on Monday and it has been very sad and quite without her, but Hope and I are coping with it. Lizzie's cage was empty and it made me cry everytime I looked over there, so I decided to give it a big cleaning and see if Hope likes it since it is a massive cage.

So, Hope spent all of Tuesday and most of today in the monster of a cage and to my surprise she was not happy in it. She was very quiet, not playing with her toys, not making any noise or doing much of anything. I let it pass and thought maybe it was because she was the only bird.

Today I decided to switch her back to her original cage and see if she is any better, OMG she was so much happier back in there. Today was the first time I actually saw her attacking and yelling at a toy. I also put a different swing in there and she started beating it around also.

Maybe she feels more content in a smaller cage - the cage isn't small per say, but definitely smaller then the monster cage. The other on is huge I can easily stand in it along with another person.

I guess I will just keep her in the smaller cage - the cage itself is a good size for a grey with a play top, plus she has a separate gym a few feet from her cage with a perch leading from her cage to the gym along with a boing overtop the gym. The door to her cage is always open unless it is sleep time or I am not home, so she can come and go as she pleases.

I am currently redoing the set up for a different look, but hopefully I can get some pictures of it to show you guys. I thought she'd like a bigger cage, but I guess not.

Oh also - the cutest thing happened today, normally when she says "hello" I saw it right back and we usually go back and forth saying "hello" to one another about 3 or 4 times. Well today she said "hello" like usual and I didn't respond back, so she said it again and I still didn't respond back - well she said it about 5 times and I finally responded back and she stopped. Maybe she was actually thinking and wanting me to respond back or maybe it was just a fluke. I thought it was cute!!!
