Ajax got out of his cage - emergancy vet visit

so i eave the hosue at 5:15 and start work ar approx 5:30am

so on the wekedays wed-fri mark waks up and feed ajax before he goes to work

yesterday i came home from work and freaked out as i didn't say ajax in his cage..
well i found him on the kitchen floor
and a pile of wood that's been chewed up till it looks like shavings...

i looked on the cupboards and nothing was damamged

it was one of those yellow wooden pencil.
i know now they do not use lead to make those pencils, instead graphite is used

i quickly called my avian vet and she was kind enough to wait for me to see ajax
plus it was also time for a welness check up

so i waited for the receptionist to see if the vet woudl see me
and the whole time i was packing ajax up
then i checked my visa.. and had totally forgot that i had to cut mine up as there was a transaction
that wasn't made by me (waiting for new one)

i called the credit card company after getting home form the vet and there is a "delay"
i dunno it's all very weird

so i had mentioned this to the receptionist because the last time we went ajax's bill was 400$
so i wante dto be prepared

she did a digital scan (sorta liek a xray but not really)
says his intestinal tract has quite a bt of gas in it
and there are some forien obects in his stomach but she can't make out what it is
all she could see is that it's different density

his feet are a lil swollen form being out on his adventure for 4 days (they vet knew i found him as i called them when ajax flew the coop)

otherwise she says ajax looks really good
but i should be careful of what he eats as he's gasy
and watch his poop and feet

anywho the vet said ajax may of figuered out how to get out of his cage.

i guess we will see today

Hope you find a way to out-trick your rambler. Glad he is doing well, despite his adventures.

Ooh, very scary! I would have a heart attack if one of my birds ate a pencil. Glad you got him to the vet quickly and everything seems to be okay.

Oh bless him! Poor Ajax! I've read before of Greys being great escape artists and I know some people have to use chains etc to keep them in!
