Molting

Just wondering what to look for exactly. It seems like Mr. is dropping more and more of his little down feathers I know they do drop some but he is loosing a tun it seems like especially at night. He also keeps messing with his feathers more often just shaking them, moving them, and preening often. He is also 6 months old.

I feel like one of those paranoid first time parents that calls the doctor when their kid sneezes LOL.

When you scrumple and rumple him all up while scritching... does he feel like a hedgehog?

Thinking

Hmmm darn he is asleep I cant go and mess with him hehehehe.

I wouldn't say hedge hog feeling but will look for that in the morning thanks!

If it is not a molt what else could be causing it? It has been the past 3 days.

He has been so needy and a little grumpy lately. I hope it is molting I was starting to get worried.

I think it is a molt he is making me want to pull my hair out!!! He wont stop yelling and begging for attention and he is becoming nippy!!! This is so not like him at all I am also having trouble getting him to eat because all he wants to do is be held and cuddled.

Is there something that I should be feeding him right now that would be good for him?

Prozac???

Diddle is the worst when he is molting. Everything ticks him off, if you cuddle him, he yells, if you leave him alone he yells, he just likes to yell!

If he will eat what you're eating, try that. Bebe is like that. We've realized that he throws the food out of his bowl because he'd rather have what we eat

Nah, my fids aren't spoiled at all!

Sounds like molting. Ziggy molted all of his large tail feathers out last week, right before I came home from a month long training. He's been a little cranky and nippy, so I can't wait for them to grow in. He looks like a parrotlet right now because all he has are the shorter/smaller tail feathers.
