Custom cage cover

So my mom has a friend who sews for fun as a hobby

i had asked her early last week if it was possible to make a cage cover for ajac's cage
since we were using blankets but it wans't big enough to drap all the way around and cover his cage

she came over to take measurements and a week later had finished

she also came over to see how it fit incase altering is needed and where it is needed

it turns out that it fit like a glove

very nicely made

only thing is ajax thinks it's gonna eat his soul alive

i have been putting it near his cage so hopfully he'll think it's ok to cover his cage in a week or so (maybe?)

here are some pics
:D

also i wouldn't of bought one but they dont' seem to make one for big bird cages
which i find very strange

They did a very good job. Although my Ellie (U2) would have about 50 holes in it already!

I used blankets for a while till I too made my own covers............they didn't last long. So it was back to the old blankets, they only seem to chew things that you make for them.....LMB

I've been fortunate that Ziggy and the parakeets haven't chewed the covers I made for them. I like the striped fabric she choose for your cover. I just found a place that does custom embroidery, so I am thinking about putting their names on their covers.

I've decided to start covering my birds at night now the temps have dropped right back (-2c here tonight).

I'm using a king size duvet cover and it works a treat! It slips over their cage easily and it's a big cage!

They're not at all scared of it and now I know they're nice and snug at night!

here is an update

ajax has accepted the stripes of the age cover

so we are using it
but since the material isn't all that thick we still put a blanket over the bak so he doens't get woken up at a godly hour since its really light outside due to the snow
