Red face Juice the CAG

Hello, everybody! I want to introduce my newcomer - Juice the CAG.

He came to our bird family on the last Saturday, it his his first photo, so he looks a little bit frightened.
Juice is a very young bird (1 year old or a little bit more) who was bred in captive in UAE. He was brought to Moscow, Russia by ship and nearly 3 months lived in in a kind of bird sanctuary, where he was tamed. There he lived with a big flock of birds - macaws, amazons, cockatoos, his brothers african greys and cockatiels. So he is acquainted with other species of birds, he doesn't pay attention to our cockatiels. He is nearly tamed, we can scratch him even under his wings.

On his very first days with us he was a little bit afraid of changing place of living, so he screamed and roared when I came closer to his cage to change food and water. Juice also tried to bite me when I took him on my hand, but now he behaves more and more calmer every day.

Now he whistles in the morning and looks very curious trying to explore the room. Of course his wings are clipped, so he can fly only to very short distance.

He is pretty! His first picture made me think about another thread about taxidermied pets because he looks a bit like a statue :)

Sounds like Juice is one lucky bird and seems to be starting to mellow out a little everyday.

YEAH!!!

he is very handsome. you can see he is scared. Time and patience is the key. As time goes on, you will see him relax and trust you more.
Congrats on your new family member. Give me a shout should you need any help.

Thank you all very much!

lostitinak, well, he looked like a statue because he was afraid of us and tried not to move. :)

Lisa B, as 4 days passed, Juice trusts me a little bit more, today he's taken a nut from my hand.

Aren't CAG's eyes darker at 1 year old? I thought they didn't get the yellow color until at least 2...

He's adorable though! Congrats on the new addition!

He is an absolutely beautiful bird. He is definitely trying to look like a statue in the first picture! So glad he is settling in. Welcome.
