toy tips ?

I was reading the post where everyone was talking about toys and african greys. as a new grey owner I found it interesting. I have been reading a lot of books and reading forums from everywhere to help me get educated with keeping Charlie happy. And so far he seems to be a well adjusted bird. I have been introducing him to the living room as of late.. he is still a little quiet when we go there, but adjusting. And he discovered the kitchen on his own. He follows me in there........ Charlie and my dog Snoopy are getting along well. I am very surprised by that... Snoopy actually wants to play with him but hasnt figured out quite how yet. but they do touch peak and noses and Charlie hasnt bitten him, And if Charlie gets off his cage Snoopy goes and checks him and is like oh it is just charlie, he's okay and goes and lays back down.

anyway off subject... sorry... I could write a book on charlies activities as of late. Oh and by the way, he said pretty bird... whistles.... and is barking.... yeah the dog. And I could have swear he said Snoopy yesterday, but havent heard it since. see off subject again... oh my the stuff he is doing so fast is amazing me. I am sorry, but he just amazing me and I get excited about how smart he is.

anyway. I was reading the post and replies about toys and greys... and was interested to know what kind of toys everyone gives to their greys. Charlies has balls with bells in them, a large hanging toy from the pet shop, some baby toys I made into toys for him, I give him crackers wrapped in a paper towel, and the toilet paper (I am a housekeeper part time in a motel so I can get lots of those.) but if I need to rotate toys regular, I was looking for more ideals.... please hare any and all ideals..... I can see I have to keep him entertained, he is so curious. he was on my desk checking out a ink pen today... so I know I cant leave those lay around. He seems to like small toys that he can pick up. clothes pins that I use to close his cage cover interest him too.

hiya. I have found my grey really likes the Greyfeather toy called the tweedle. they now have a medium tweedle that is made for greys sized birds.
other than that, mine like shredables, and soft wood toys. there is a great one from Paradise toys that is in a shape of a strawberry or apple that seem to be a hit. Here is are pics of some toys I picked out for a client who had a grey....last pic is of Emma Lynn and her tweedle.

hehe
not that it's a bad thing
lots and lots of TOYS!

be careful about the bells
most of them are unsafe even if the toys are made for birds

ajax likes to chew wood..
i string popsicle sticks on a leather string and he chews them

i'm gonna cut pieces of untreated pine and do the same thing
it may last longer
LOL

I have 2 CAG's and mine both love foot toys. They have a plastic ring with plastic 'stuff' on it and they love to hold them, carry them around and play with them. I have hanging toys in their cage that they mess with occasionally but the foot toys they play with every day and it keeps them so occupied. I bought them from a guy who makes toys and if anyone is interested I can send his email info. He is also EXTREMELY reasonable on toy prices. He makes them himself. I've tried all sorts of other toys but these are the ones they just seem to love.

I find that any toys made for parrots are too expensive. My greys love baby toys which they use as foot toys. Dog toys are great too. A piece of untreated pine cut into blocks and a hole drilled into them can be hung in the cage. Leather strips knotted together make a great chew toy as well. Old phone books in the bottom of the cage make a big enough mess to keep them happy!
