scared affrican gray!!!!!!!!

we had company over and my affrican gray was scared to death of this one person that was here.the gray was screaming and was in the corner of his cage as far away from that guy as possable..he has never done this with anyone else before.he even fell to the bottom of his cage.what do u think is wrong? thank u judy

Birds react differently to different people, it may've been nothing serious just a strong dislike or fear of that person, for who knows what reason. Or he could have had on something terribly scary like a "hat" or a scary color...? You may never know why that person terrified him unless you get a similar reaction and can isolate an object or reason that both people did or were wearing that caused your birds terror. My bird is terified of men, I don't know why but she will fly into walls to escape them, I leave her in her cage if I know a man will visit because there she feels safer and will cower in the corner safely until they leave. Wonder what goes through their little bird minds. My other bird hates towels on my head or hats, one dislikes bandaids. Its all a matter of singling things out and trying to figure out what causes the reaction but sometimes you can't figure it out and it remains a mystery.
