Smile Please help I have a plucker

Hello I am new to this group as of yesterday
We have an African grey of 6 years we got her from a infant, She has a nasty personality and hates everybody but me LOL. She is bald and ugly but not to me. To me she is beautiful ! She has a nice large cage tons of toys both boughten and homade such as papertowel rolls She eats fruits veg parrot pellets and her vitimins. My vet says he is out of answers good diet no mites or sickness lots of attention and toys What else can I do? Again this is a chronic problem she has done this for years now. I have also tried a ton of feather pluckig products such as pluck no more geen apple and bittergeen apple still she plucks away. She appears to be happy she is out of her cage fron 5.00 to 11.00 daily and I do work during the day the vet said leave the TV on for her which is done daily while I work. Can anybody help me?? We are both very content with one another she loves and hugs me only anyone eles she will draw blood She will always be my baby no matter what bald or beautiful sure can use some advise I am not a breeder just love our little girl her name is Jessie short for jessica. When we got her they said she was a boy so we named it Jessie then had a DNA sex test done after 6 weeks of calling her Jessie then find out it is a girl LOL Thanks if anybody can help I love this site I wish I would have found it a long time ago Micki

Hi there... it's a sad fact that no matter what you do, your Grey will always pluck. No amount of any product, no particular toy, foraging, time in/out of cage, one-on-one time, the "works".... will work. This being said, have you tried AviCalm and Featherific by AviTech? You didn't mention those products in your post.

Our CAG, Mackie is on them (read my blog for his story) and they are working extremely well. His aggressive behaviors have reduced dramatically (AviCalm)and he is now fully feathered (Featherific)....

If you haven't tried these products, they might be worth a shot....

Sounds like you love her very much. Some people use the Pluck No More product with good results, I am sure they will chime in here about their experiences with the product in helping with plucking in their Greys.

Hi again... I just got home from being out all day and was re-reading my post.... I meant to say that your Grey MIGHT always pluck... NOT that he will always pluck... sorry for the error....

I hope you find some answers here.... there is wealth of information on this board...
