Fly Day/ Play Day (NYC area)

This is an email I received from Friends of Greys. I thought I share with anyone who was able to attend:


Saturday, May 28th
2-4:30 pm
Run Spot Run
415 E. 91st St, NYC
"For the Birds".
People without a companion bird will not be admitted to this event.
A groomer will be available to trim birds nails at an additional cost.
Professional photographer will be available to imprint Birdie's photo on tee shirts, tote bags, mouse pads, etc.
Sketch artist will be available to draw/paint Birdie's picture.

Admission: $5.00 members; $10.00 non-members.

So ... ah ... um ... if I bring my bird to catch whatever the other birds might be carrying, you have to too?
Non-members $10.00? But have to bring a bird?
Confusing.
And waaaay too cold on that side of the country.

yeah, I sorta chuckled at the non-member thing as well. And I would have to agree, it is much too cold out here. I don't know what the issue is. The rest of the country is heating up, but not us.

C'mon - it's a balmy 48 here today. Hardly need a parka!
Where is summer already!?

I don't think I would take my birds to something like that either. Too many people touching them and passing whatever. Too risky. I don't even like to take Maia out in public anymore - a little overprotective yes - but could not stand the thought of her contracting something because of my desire to show her off. That's just me.
