Jer, How's Ozzie's wound?

Well she is going crazy with the cone still. I am waiting as we speak for the vet to call me so I can ask if I can take it off. I do have it off of her now because I can't stand to see her like this. But she stays IN her cage so she doesn't get hurt again until the wound is DEFINITELY healed. I can't take this again. But she is singing now and feeling much happier. It has been twelve days with the cone. I would think that would be long enough, don't you?? I sure hope so. I'll let you know what the doc says. Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the update...
You would think 12 days is enough...but remember, even if the vet says its ok,,,keep it in teh back of your mind, how thin her skin is in the area, and the possiblilty of her rehurting herself.
One of my friends greys reopened herself after flapping her wings.
Poor girl was so happy to be free again, and was flapping in excitement, when the wound started to retear.
Just keep her calm, and limited. Keep her close to the floor so she cant fall....you can even line the bottom with something so if she falls off teh pearch for whatever reason, the grate wont hurt her. Keep in mind if you line it, make sure it is nothing she can get her nails stuck in...
