My CAG eats her poop?
I got my Bird from a divorcing couple. She is very healthy and she knows a lot of vocabulary. She is on a Zupreem diet. Very nice feather structure does not pluck or anything. But once in a while we see her going down the cage to eat dried poop?

It is usually a sign of a choline deficiency. You can sprinkle Brewer's Yeast on soft foods. Just make sure the Brewer's Yeast comes from the Health Food Store, not from the grocery store.Egg white also has it as do some of the treat sticks. By adding the choline to the diet the practice usually stops right away.

Thanks Monica,
That is great information. I know Pepper just picks it off and drops it. He doesn't eat it, do you think he's just preening me? I am going to double check with the vet. He does get egg white a few times a week, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Are there other signs of choline deficiency? What is the test?

Don't think me and Michelle are the same person!!!! However, in regards to the topic...
Some other suggestions I've read include providing a mineral, iodine, or cuttlebone. There may be bird vitamins one could use as well, or perhaps probiotics, or cod liver oil (in very small amounts)... If the bird isn't getting a varied diet that includes grains, pulses, fresh fruits, veggies, occasionally cooked eggs, sprouts, etc, then perhaps they need a diet change, and this may help resolve any defficiencies?
