I need some sleep, lol

So, Nori has recently decided that the BEST time to play is when I'm going to bed. His cage is in my room and as soon as I go to bed he decides to start ringing his bell, talking, and basically being obnoxious. He plays and talks to me plenty during the day and covering him up doesn't help at all.

I have also figured out why he didn't have a rope perch at his old home...he DESTROYS them! I bought one for him and he has already torn it half apart. I keep trying to tell him I can't afford to spend $25 on another one every few weeks but he doesn't seem to get it, lol.

I got an already half destroyed perch from a friend and put it in there and he will rip that one but he still rips his as well. Is there any way I can discourage this? I don't want to take it out, it's his favorite perch and the one he sleeps on. He has LOTS of shreddable and destructable toys along with foraging toys that he plays with but he loves his rope.

LOL our dog always thinks playtime is 10pm-11pm. Its very obnoxious! We always prepare outselves for the "play hour". Nori sounds like he doesnt seem to like his bedtime, tee hee. As far as the rope chewing goes, I have found that if they like doing something, its not going to stop unless whatever he/she is chewing is completely removed. My parrotlet loves to shred anything paper. Luckily for me there is an endless bounty of that in the world so I dont have any problems. Since you don't want to take the rope out, maybe put it in there only for a certain amount of time per day. That way it he wont have all day to destroy the whole thing very quickly.

I'm feeling lucky that Cookie knows when its bed time :P I go through the play time at night with my dogs, too, though. It'll be about 2am and all you hear is them barking and running up and down the hallway playing. *sigh*
