Playtop (pics)

I bought Gizzy a brand new cage. It came with a playtop and she HATED the playtop at first. Was scared to death of it. So I sat it by her cage for a couple weeks until she got used to it. My mom suggested setting up the playtop separate from the cage by her favorite window. And guess what? She's now done being afraid with it. She was so happy today and she absolutely had a blast! Thanks Mom!

My Bing does stuff like that too. It cracks me up. He acts so fearless and thinks he is the toughest bird around and then a new perch, toy or something will enter his world and he will act like it is out to get him. Then a day or two later he's o.k. with it and pretends he was always in control. And the best part, there is no predicting what will scare him and what won't phase him one bit.

Looks like Gizzy is setting up to be the local neighbourhood watch bird! Know about the "EEEK its going to kill ME!" response. Means surprise gifts are hard to do with parrots.

Oh Hollyhawkz, she is so inquisitive. It's hilarious. The other day I was cleaning out her cage and was sitting on the floor. She looked down at me from her perch above and said "Where'd ya go?!" I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.
