Talking Oh, I'm dying!!

OK, so I feel like crap... went to work last night when I shouldn't have. Labs came back and I have some raging infection somewhere. Nothing makes you feel better than a good laugh.

My 'largest conure' is a closet talker I think. She's down there making all kinds of noise.. from "Hello?" to wolf whistles to beeps to Star Wars noises. I'm up here laughing.. then I hear her laughing. Rayne starts to talk back to her... yelling in her biggest voice. This sets ALL of my upstairs fids off... then I hear a Pom barking like mad!! Now I hear a Pom barking just a happy little bark. Thankfully, I think the shepherds have figured out there is NOT a small dog in the family room!

I don't think I have enjoyed something so simple in a long, long time. I'm just sitting here listening to this variety of sounds coming from downstairs. Now I just heard a cat fight downstairs (NO.. we don't have a cat). This is killing me funny. The only thing I'm concerned about is that every once in awhile, Rayne goes off... on a screaming bender that sounds like her 'alert alarm'. I don't think I will ever be able to have Ziva and Rayne out at the same time. Rayne thinks she's big, and is very possessive of me. I do wonder if Ziva is trying to entertain them, though. She just switched to a variety of 'outdoor bird' calls.

I have no idea how large her vocabulary really is... or how many different things she can imitate. However, she already has the 'beep' on our answering machine down cold! This is like the entertainment that just keeps on going. How does anyone with greys stand all this fun and cuteness???

I want to hug her... or at the least hold her... but she's not going to go for that! I like just sitting there and talking to her... and she makes noises when I'm leaving that tells me she doesn't want me to go. I think that when I have them all in the same room it will get very interesting, as they are interacting with each other. Maybe she can teach the boys to make less offensive noises!!

Very cute. I am sorry for you not feeling well and the infection. At least you have a crazy bird to entertain you.

Well, I've been immuno suppressed for about 10 months, so I have been waiting for an infection...especially with the kids and all the sick patients at work! I've been really lucky so far. I don't think I could ask for better entertainment. I've loved all my fids for their individual personalities and attributes. They are all their own little 'being'. However, Ziva seems to be going out of her way today to keep me entertained!

LOL... sorry!! I think that my fids are the best decisions I've ever made. They make me very, very happy. This latest little girl is taking the prize today, though! I wish I would have known years ago how much I would have enjoyed having parrots. It would have been a huge stress relief for me long ago! If you want a grey... get one! I couldn't imagine letting her go at this point. I'm glad now that no one else was able to take her at the time. I still have some worries about making sure I care for her properly, but I don't regret getting her one little bit!!

You really need to stop with all this cuteness! I have always liked CAGs but never found one that picked me like the conures. Now I will have to start paying attention to them again, thanks lol!

LOL! I feel the same way about Cougar. I just have so many questions. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get her a nice cage just yet, but maybe after rent is paid then the worst will be over. She's so cute! Whenever I go to get her, she says, "HI, HI COUGAR" and wolf whistles when I go near her. I never thought I would be the talking bird type, but I have to say she's a riot. I'm also really glad that her previous owner whistled, cuz I can't at all. She does it so well. I totally get what you mean about entertainment. Aren't they great?!

I've never been around a CAG, but you are making me VERY jealous! I love birdie noises, especially immitations. I'm sorry your not feeling well, but it sounds like enjoying your "heaven" on earth!!!

Jag, I hate to hear you are not feeling well, but I am glad that your babies are keeping you so very entertained....it is amazing how much joy I get out of mine.

I myself am having a flare up this week and I can ONLY imagine how you feel. The doctor has been trying to put me on some medication that will suppress my immune system but I have been scared to death to take anything as the last time I took this pill (Plaquenil) I was in the hospital for 6 days with a terrible reaction. I look like a purple rasberry!

I know that very very soon you will be able to cuddle Ziva. It is amazing how quickly she has adjusted to you guys.....I really do hope you get to feeling better.
