Ziva was really wound up tonight. We went to my mother in law's for her birthday party today. We were gone for most of the day. We got home, and let the birds out. I was downstairs with Ziva, and she ate a whole bunch, had a ton to say (did a lot of burping) and then was leaning forward and hanging her wings open while lightly fluttering them. I know with the boys, this is a "I'm happy, pick me up!" type of thing. With her... not sure what it was. Tried to get it on video, but she wouldn't do it again when the camera was on! She 'almost' went back to doing it on one of them... I will try to get it next time she does it (if she does). When I asked if she wanted to step up, she at first started to pick up a foot, then moved away. I wasn't very sure I wanted to give her that option at this point either... as I know that it could be a 'game' which ends with me getting bitten! Anyway... cute videos of her anyway! (Except the burping) They are dark (the camera doesn't have a light option for taking video), so you can't tell how much down she has now... in just a few days! She also has more and more pins coming in. I don't think the vet pinned it right that it was too damaged to have any more come in, as they obviously ARE coming in! OH, and when she was doing this happy looking 'dance' she had NO eye pinning!!

Just watch those pins so they don't get ingrown . . . Sunny had one that was looking ingrown and I was getting ready to take her in to the vet for it. I hope Ziva won't pick at her new feathers and they will grow back in soon!

I don't know who... I have really tried to ignore it, but she does is so loud, and so human like that it's really hard to ignore. She does it many, many times a day...so it must be one of her favorite sounds to mimic! I really wish I could have gotten what she was doing on there...normal for them to stop the minute you have film!

Just have to say, she is one happy gal. It is so obvious. I love poker and am going to make you two a bet: I'll bet she is going to bloom in your house. No way is this a mean bird. When she lifts her foot like that, I'd just slide a flat hand, back-side-up, right under it and touch her belly. To me she is pretty much saying she's ready. What a doll!!!

Thank you so much for saying that! She seems very relaxed and happy... but I don't want to misread her. She's never acted mean to me... she's really surprised me at how interactive she is with me. She loves the attention! I was too chicken to touch her (I can't read her well) but tonight she was open to scritches and 'clearly asked' for me to do it. However, after the third time she growled! So, I stopped there, but she didn't seem agitated or anything. I've thought she was a doll since the day I met her! She's been a real treat to have in our home! I hope I can keep her happy.

It seems like it's her FAVORITE noise to make! Sometimes I think that (as with small kids) the most offensive noise is the most fun!
