I'm SO spoiled!

As far as i'm concerned greys are the perfect parrot!

Personality, looks, non screamers!!!! What more could you ask for REALLY>?
Mo isn't the most affectionate bird I've known, but seriously, I'd rather have an aloof non screamer than a velcro house shaker!

Hmm, how about another parrot that even compares?

Any one know of any?> I've been talking with a few people and we can't think of one, can any one help? I don't mean the exception to the rule of course I mean we've all knows quiet conures or loud greys, but I mean as a breed/ species.....

I feel insulted! LOL I love, love, love, my velcro house shakers!!!!! I do not want an aloof bird. I much prefer a fid who is overly affectionate and so what if they scream. I like communication.

I agree all the way. My bgm is alot of work and verrry noisey, my grey is a perfect quiet amuse himself bird. No trouble at all. Is quite happy doing wharever. My macaw wants ME to amuse HIM at all times. My macaw is good for laughs but frankly i dont think i would want another. Now greys i could have 3 or 4, great birds.

Oh communication I LOVE, but I do have a neurological thing that makes certain pitches, (like those reached by certain bird calls/screams) make me cringe and run like a pooch to a dog whistle..... So, no screamers for me, but with any luck my hearing will go completely, which I'm not against, my mom has the same thing and she chose implants. I just can't see that route for myself. SO if/when that happens, COME ONE COME ALL, I won't care!...

But until then I am tickled pink that I have Mo in my life! the lovely boy greats me in the morning with smooch sounds!!!!!!

The "velco" personality would def. be welcome, just not the house shaking. unfortunately.

So with that said, any one know of another parrot that compares to greys?>

BTW, are STILL my ultimate favorite and I would fill my place with them if I could!!!!! LOL

BUT totally NO offense meant to the velcro house shakers!!!!!... Hey, there's a lid for every pot!

I like a bird that can amuse itself. But I also like a bird that needs me. When I had nothing but independent types I felt unfullfilled, cleaning cages, cooking. I couldn't handle a bunch of needy birds but couldn't do without any. I like that Tilly shrieks her brains out when I leave the room or that Tiki is miffed if I didn't give him the same personal attention today that I gave him yesterday.

All my birds are more than happy to amuse themselves, in and out of their cages. They have enough stuff to play with, climb up, hang from and attack so I should hope so too!

But Henry, well, he makes the most AWFUL noise at times! It's not a scream, it's an extremely high-pitched whistle type noise and it's a noise he makes every evening without fail from about 5pm til 7pm. It's a sound which could break windows I reckon!

I'll try and record it for you one day

I've no idea at all! Henry is very old and apparently has been making the same noise, same time of day for at least the last 25 years!

I was warned about it before I rehomed him though and can live with it
